    Have I got a story for you about Ariels... my friends dad bout one around 1941 or so, got it in the USA, and sent them a letter for parts, and they responded so nicely, eloquently, that due to the war, they'd have to get tricky to get him the parts in a devious way to get around wartime production rules, and thanks for being an Ariel owner in the US... they didn't know any had existed yet!
